Stash busting and a lovely day out.

Hi friends,

I have to go back to work tomorrow :-( After spending a lovely few days with Miss Ells at the start of her looonnng summer holidays from school.

Yesterday we decided to go to Ruthord Hall with my mum and Miss Ells. Alas I could'nt take any pics of inside but will show the gardens.

My mum and miss Ells had lots of fun :-)

The picture don't do the gardens justice at all.

Miss Ells decided to collect pine cones -perhaps we will craft with these some rainy day.

The kitchen garden had a variety. Can you spot the scarecrow with his cool shades?

The hall really was fantastic but I love old buildings, shame I can't show you the inside but here is a bit of outside.
And lastly I have got terribly frustrated with tension spaures to realise that I have been following the wrong one as using a different wool to the pattern. I must have done about three before realisation has dawned so back to the drawing board... I fear it will be one of those patterns ...

Something a bit more cheary is this my next project. I want a quick knit and want to stash bust from supplies I already have. I am not doing a tension sqaure but going for it. We shall see how it turns out.

Bye for now lovlies, happy wednesday xxx

A little tadddahh and summer sun

Hello dear readers,

This week has been lovely and sunny in my corner of the world but first let me show you this. Just finished, so quick, so fast, so so pretty. I love my new hanger as you can tell.

The flowers took a second to do, this afternoon.

And it is now home to this ...

And sits prettily in my wardrobe and wow do I want to make more of these beauties, lots and lots.

It was recycled from this, that was left from the previous occupants. I have to hand it to them for recycled thriftyness, I think it was previously made from some old tights, good idea I think you could go to town with different colours, watch this space it could be a maybe.

The before shot...

The summer holidays have started in our household, trips to the park a plenty...

And a quiet moment for me with my favourite magazines ...

Playdates with friends
And the thought of trying to untangle this lot eeek...!

Lots more fun in store next week
Have a great week lovelies, Leah xxx

Hot summer days, lots of fun

Hello dear friends,
This week has been warm in my corner of the world , hot and sticky, we are never quite happy with the weather are we us Brits lol x

This week has been a transition of new endings and new beginnings, chatting on what's app all the way im Aussi to my husbands young cousin and getting in touch with a very dear old uni friend.

Ying and yang thats all I have to say but we as a family are back on track again and happy.

This week has involved summer fairs, parties and playdates.

Projects have been worked on. I just need to sew up on one to finish it and add some decoration. And the other has not began just yet but I am sample swatching to get the right size. I love seeing how the wool looks before I start my pattern but I am first to admit that if I could miss this step and dive in I would.

I love the scrummy purple which will become socks one day.
And this is my nearly finished, getting there project
Also it is my birthday tomorrow so this evening I shall be sitting and reading my two favourite crafty mags, well why not? :-)

Have a lovely week dear readers xxxx

Loom Bands have landed

Have not been crafting myself but helping Miss Ell's who approached me the other week and asked for blooms. Blooms? What are they, a sweet? We were at the counter at Tesco, when the lady explained "Loom Bands, my nephew has been mad about them" Then all I could hear and see on my little walkabouts were Loom Bands, how they are banned in schools, all the things you can make etc, etc, and then my local market has a stall selling nothing but packets of loom bands. So a craze has began. My dd is only 6 and they are for 8 years and up but it was a great project to work together on.

The kit only cost 3.99 which I am told is about right x

In our house we have been consuming a lot of ice lollies of late as the weather has been wonderful but hot. So I thought why not make healthier lollies so we at least know what is in it. So I trawled through all the recipies on the www and decided on a simple raspberry and strawberry concoction. Another great idea to do with the kids Miss Ells loved smushing the mixture up and generally getting messy.

Miss Ells did not eat it all but she tried Lol x

I need to do a craft project to forget about the massive stresses we are going through at the moment. Life is a battle but you can't have the ying without the yang, that's what I keep telling myself anyway.

Anyway I think I will prettyfy some clothes hangers, I have seen a lovely pattern from The Gentle Art of Knitting.

I have lots of style craft wool left from my crochet project I have done. I think crafting is theraputic and I so need that right now.

Have a lovely week guys see you next time and happy crafting xxxx
