1. Baby Booties
Well I have not blogged for a couple of weeks as really did not have much to show progress wise. But I have now finished one of my honey-badger socks :) Ok so to be honest I am not happy with it. My shaping is odd. I must have gone wrong and I did sort of make it up at the end. Nothing to do with the pattern but very much me trying to read a pattern and following it properly.
I did a sample swatch and went down to 2mm needles, learning curve I think I should have just stuck to what the pattern said to use needle size wise because it is a little snug. I also think I should have knitted the larger version but I did do sizing between medium and small as I got lost. Note to self take note of where I am and what scale I am using.
So without further ado dear readers here it is.
Ok so I have to wait before I make the matching sock for now. Reason being is because a cousin of ours has just had a baby girl called Margot Lauren. So I am adding this to my list.saartjes-bootees I have made these time and again for any baby girls who arrive in our family, it's getting to be a bit of a tradition. So anyway I am casting these on today so when we pop and visit in a few weeks I can give them to our new mummy Ruby and her new baby girl Margot, what a beautiful name xx
I am also taking part in a christmas swap hosted on Ravelry. I have to make an item. I have decided what to make but as top secret you will find out what when swap is done and dusted. My swap partner has made me smile as she does not like purple and it is my all time favourite at the moment lol. So in the next few weeks will be getting started on this.
Right I am going to update you on our camping trip last week. I am very proud of myself as I conquered Helvellyn, I actually did striding edge. It was scary, it felt like rock climbing to me in fact it was. I did not come down swirral's edge as my legs were jelly and it was enough having made it to the top. We took a nice easier route back down.
We started in Patterdale, Lake District and ended at Glenridding, a good 10 mile walk. We camped at Gillside farm which has a great butty van for breakfast baps. Here are my photo's which no where near capture the beauty of this place.
